Cette derni\u00e8re s\u2019articule autour de deux sommets critiques : celui qui s\u2019inscrit dans la Critique du Jugement Esth\u00e9tique de Kant (1790), lib\u00e9rant ce jugement de la double tutelle de la science et de la morale pour le fonder sur la seule \u00ab contemplation d\u00e9sint\u00e9ress\u00e9e \u00bb ; la pens\u00e9e de Nietzsche marque le second sommet critique (vers 1880), contestant violemment l\u2019hypoth\u00e8se d\u2019un \u00ab d\u00e9sint\u00e9r\u00eat \u00bb et d\u00e9signant ainsi l\u2019instinct comme l\u2019impens\u00e9 de l\u2019esth\u00e9tique philosophique. C\u2019\u00e9tait, en m\u00eame temps, annoncer la ruine d\u2019une \u00ab pens\u00e9e du go\u00fbt \u00bb. L\u2019art se voyait lib\u00e9r\u00e9 de l\u2019id\u00e9al du Beau ; l\u2019expression se fondait d\u00e9sormais sur la seule pulsion. Celle-ci peut ainsi donner libre cours \u00e0 ses formes n\u00e9gatives, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019aphasie (Hofmannsthal, 1902) ou la naus\u00e9e (Sartre, 1938), auxquelles de nombreux artistes r\u00e9cents donnent une traduction visuelle (F. Bacon, J. Rustin).
