Comment concevoir l\u2019architecture humaine sans elles ? Et quant au dispositif pictural, n\u2019est-il pas dans son essence, lui-m\u00eame fen\u00eatre ? Seul le souvenir de la peinture murale, celle des grottes et des \u00e9glises byzantines, introduit quelque doute : la fen\u00eatre n\u2019est pas \u00e0 l\u2019origine dans l\u2019histoire de cet art. Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019une fois devenue portative que l\u2019ic\u00f4ne n\u00e9cessite un support, un cadre, annon\u00e7ant ainsi le tableau, supposant distance et s\u00e9lection, inaugurant un r\u00e9gime du D\u00e9sir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exp\u00e9rience fondatrice que cette s\u00e9paration entre objet et subjectivit\u00e9 observante, o\u00f9 se r\u00e9v\u00e8le la double fonction de la fen\u00eatre, en architecture puis en peinture : contenir et se faire contenant. La rime de Baudelaire est \u00e9vocatrice : elle nous fait na\u00eetre. \u00c9quilibre instable pourtant : contenir c\u2019est aussi exclure, mettre hors-champ, rendre absent. Ce que la fen\u00eatre valorise \u00e9veille en m\u00eame temps la nostalgie de ce qu\u2019elle sacrifie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paradoxe de la peinture, jusque dans son dispositif ! Son histoire mouvement\u00e9e l\u2019atteste, elle peut s\u2019y perdre. La crise aigu\u00eb qu\u2019elle traverse tout au long du XXe si\u00e8cle est domin\u00e9e par la question de sa survie. Ce voeu de Rilke : \u00ab voir l\u2019Ouvert \u00bb, r\u00e9sonne ici comme un Salut possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moment-cl\u00e9 de cette crise, l\u2019autoportrait de C.D.
