En m\u00eame temps, la puissance cr\u00e9atrice et les qualit\u00e9s expressives d\u00e9gag\u00e9es par cette \u0153uvre hors normes conf\u00e8rent \u00e0 ce nu h\u00e9ro\u00efque une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 humaine.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tout comme le g\u00e9ant Gargantua, le <em>David<\/em> g\u00e9ant est n\u00e9 de la d\u00e9mesure. Mais ces deux \u0153uvres t\u00e9moignent que l\u2019exag\u00e9ration n\u2019est pas d\u00e9raison ni folie, mais souscrit aux id\u00e9aux de l\u2019humanisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s avoir pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 les exc\u00e8s de Rabelais dans <em>Gargantua<\/em> et la d\u00e9mesure de Michel-Ange dans la r\u00e9alisation de son <em>David<\/em> g\u00e9ant, nous montrerons les effets qu\u2019ils engendrent et notamment l\u2019aspect cr\u00e9atif, voire r\u00e9cr\u00e9atif, de cette d\u00e9mesure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Puis, nous nous attacherons \u00e0 souligner que derri\u00e8re les exc\u00e8s de ces \u0153uvres, dont une fut interdite pour obsc\u00e9nit\u00e9 et l\u2019autre fit pol\u00e9mique \u00e0 cause de sa repr\u00e9sentation de la nudit\u00e9, se dissimule v\u00e9ritablement un message empreint d\u2019humanit\u00e9 et de dignit\u00e9.
