Pour la psychopathologie de l\u2019expression, il est un cas limite entre le normal et le pathologique.<br>Ce peintre de la premi\u00e8re moiti\u00e9 du XXe si\u00e8cle, qui v\u00e9cut toujours \u00e0 Bologne en Italie, se confina tout le temps entre sa m\u00e8re et ses s\u0153urs, et cr\u00e9a son \u0153uvre dans sa chambre-atelier. Il \u00e9tait aussi professeur de gravure \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole des beaux-arts. Fuyant la vie sociale durant la p\u00e9riode du fascisme, il ne s\u2019int\u00e9gra \u00e0 aucun courant de son \u00e9poque, ni la peinture m\u00e9taphysique, ni le futurisme.<br>Son succ\u00e8s tient \u00e0 ses natures mortes compos\u00e9es uniquement de r\u00e9cipients domestiques, bouteilles, pots, vases, minutieusement dispos\u00e9s dans un style d\u2019une extr\u00eame douceur, renvoyant \u00e0 la traduction de still life, \u00ab besoin de vie calme et immobile \u00bb. Objets sympt\u00f4mes donc interm\u00e9diaires chez lui entre la vie et la mort.<br>Pour la psychopathologie de l\u2019expression et l\u2019art-th\u00e9rapie, il illustre plusieurs niveaux de la notion de r\u00e9sistance dans la gen\u00e8se et le travail de cr\u00e9ation. D\u2019abord, le cadre recherch\u00e9 comme protection pour lib\u00e9rer l\u2019expression, l\u2019importance de la possibilit\u00e9 de r\u00e9gression, la notion de m\u00e9lancolique sans m\u00e9lancolie de Christian David, les niveaux de lecture ou d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation suivant que l\u2019on \u00e9tudie les comportements n\u00e9vrotiques ou son mat\u00e9riel pictural infra-verbal.
