Si nous y laissons travailler des patients schizophr\u00e8nes librement, sans les influencer d&rsquo;une mani\u00e8re ou d&rsquo;une autre, nous r\u00e9colterons tout, sauf un mat\u00e9riel d\u2019\u00e9tude uniforme, monotone, st\u00e9r\u00e9otyp\u00e9. Bien entendu, la plupart des productions seront \u00e0 classer dans la cat\u00e9gorie des expressions plastiques riches en significations psychopathologiques. sans aucune pr\u00e9tention \u00ab artistique \u00bb. Il est rare de rencontrer un malade qui parvienne \u00e0 s&rsquo;exprimer sur le papier dans un style personnel et original. Lorsqu&rsquo;un schizophr\u00e8ne sort<br>du lot en cr\u00e9ant v\u00e9ritablement \u00ab une \u0153uvre \u00bb. c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire un ensemble poss\u00e9dant des qualit\u00e9s esth\u00e9tiques intrins\u00e8ques, il quitte par l\u00e0-m\u00eame le cadre strict de la psychopathologie. Nous pourrons toujours interpr\u00e9ter le contenu et analyser les caract\u00e9ristiques formelles de tels dessins, mais nous devons aussi admettre \u2014 sinon admirer \u2014 les possibilit\u00e9s cr\u00e9atrices qui s&rsquo;y r\u00e9v\u00e8lent. Ce n&rsquo;est pas toujours commode pour le psychiatre, surtout si le patient va cliniquement mal.
