Ces caract\u00e9ristiques apparaissent dans ses combats de chevaux, ses charges fr\u00e9n\u00e9tiques de cavalerie, et surtout chez les naufrag\u00e9s de son c\u00e9l\u00e8bre \u00ab\u00a0Radeau de la M\u00e9duse\u00a0\u00bb qui expriment la mis\u00e8re et la souffrance humaines pouss\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;extr\u00eame. Mais, de l&rsquo;ensemble de l&rsquo;\u0153uvre de G\u00e9ricault, se d\u00e9gage une dominante humanitaire : il est toujours du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de ceux qui souffrent ou qui sont dans le
